Hi,
just phoned the accommodation line (once I got the correct number and not the one advertised on the horseman site).
Apparently you can only book "breaks", and these must finish on Monday morning. In other words, you HAVE to pay for Sunday night, whether or not you stay (which will cost me an extra £100).
I thought the idea of negotiating a special deal for Gencon would get rid of these stupid problems.

Hi,
Butlins have 2 checkouts per week, 1 on Monday & 1 on Friday. When you buy a multi-night package from Butlins, its all based on checking out on one of those days, so a 3-night package will be Fri/Sat/Sun. 4-nights would be Thu/Fri/Sat/Sun.
Whilst there is likely to be a promotion code for Butlins accommodation pertaining to Gen Con UK 2005, the check in/outs will remain the same.
The key advantage for this is that although we understand a lot of people will travel home on the Sunday, to re-engage with Real Life on the Monday, you can pack at any time Sunday without a rush to make your checkout time(As per Olympia or Loughborough), and then find somewhere to leave your luggage whilst you play/socialise/spend money with whats left of Gen Con on the Sunday.
Regards,
Stuart

And the key disadvantage is that everyone either wastes a lot of money or takes an extra day off work.

Can anyone yet confirm if the "special rates" for Gen Con accommodation are available yet and if not when?
What chalets options are there?
And most importantly where can this information be found? I have check the HE web site and cannot find any details, I’m told to check out consupport and all I find are peoples comments, no "official" information. Where was this mystical telephone number found?
